NEW YORK (CBSNewYork) – Governor Kathy Hochul hosted a Thanksgiving Eve celebration at the Executive Palace in Albany.
The festivities started with a series of what the governor called “father jokes on steroids” when she pardoned a turkey.

“I had written an entire speech for this, but I think I just want to ‘whistle it,'” she said. “Without ‘feather ado’, I’m sure we’ll meet this lovely turkey here … This turkey was in ‘sleep’ danger before I decided to pardon him.”

Hochul signed a proclamation pardoning the Sullivan “Sully” turkey.

Sully was donated by the Jaffe family from Snowdance Farms.
